Meditation on Experience Jerome Can any man in all his endeavors ever realize the majesty of the world, or men in all their finite wisdom claim to understand the full spectrum of Creation? Is there any path a man may take to lead him down that enlightened road? or are we doomed to be deaf and dumb – overlooking the serene and surreal? Scientists with discerning eye and invention and discovery – will they find truth in all their quests, find peace beneath the cyan seas, or love amongst the galaxies? Philosophers with hefty thoughts and theories quite abundant – perhaps it is they that hold the final answers in their palms, or could it be that they are searching just as hard as you and me? The poets with inspired hearts and souls as pure as gold – is it they that see the world in all its ripened glories? or do they see but one small part of Creation as a whole? And what of the wealthy or the simple poor? perhaps money plays a role – but neither know the wonders of life – for one is prideful and cares not for truth, the other, resigned to his lot, lives only day-to-day. Lovers who drift on silver clouds and dream the sweetest dreams of youth – are they who hold enlightenment, peace, hope, and truth? or has their love so blind'd their eyes that all they see is her? Fools who care not for today and neither for tomorrow – with tricks and lies and foolish quips they stumble through life – are these the few whose eyes see clearly? Perhaps no men see, or perhaps every one but me – yet despite my fervor and blind frustration I will continue to live in what I know – that is peace and hope and patience and love.
